Asthma is a breathing disorder . Asthma is a well known respiratory disorder. It is commonly seen in children and adults too dealing with it. It is a breathing disorder. When as asthma attack occurs it makes you unable to breath in air. This causes suffocation and immediate medical attention is required. The airway that carries air to the lungs becomes swollen and thus their diameter gets reduced. The air carrying ability gets reduced and the sufferer finds it difficult to breath. Asthma symptoms interfere with daily activities of the individuals and thus making him/her miss school or work. Once developed, asthma cannot be cured but the symptoms of this disorder can be controlled with the help of medications. This helps the asthma patient to live a better life.

Mild or severe asthma symptoms can be occurred in the sufferers. The degree of severity of the symptoms varies from person to person. You might develop mild asthma symptoms but the frequency of asthma attacks could be high. There is no specific time in day when your symptoms may go high. It has been observed that during night time the symptoms occur with great severity. They might become worse during exercise or when you get exposed to asthma triggers such as dust or pollens.

  • Pain or feeling of tightness in the chest
  • Lack of sleep due to wheezing or coughing
  • Wheezing sound while exhalation
  • Coughing

  • Increase in the difficulty in breathing

  • The asthma symptoms becomes severe and bothersome

These asthma symptoms get worse in certain situations. Many sufferers get their asthma symptoms worse during exercise. Those who work in the environment full of chemical fumes and dust. Allergies also make the symptoms worse.

It is still in the investigation path why only some of the people get asthma and other leads a healthy life. Though it has been concluded that a combination of environmental and genetic factors causes this breathing disorders. Asthma triggers varies from person to person. Airborne allergens such as pollens, animal dander, respiratory infections, cold air, exercise induced asthma, air pollutants, certain medications like beta blocker or non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, food allergies and emotional stress.

There is no treatment available that can completely cure asthma. One can reduce the severity of the symptoms and reduce the frequency of the attack. To get the medications one need to talk with the doctor. Let your doctor examined you thoroughly and prescribe you the medication. Inhaled corticosteroids works effectively to reduce the severity of the asthma attack. There are oral medications also that reduce the inflammation of the airways leading to reduce the symptoms of the disorder.
